The rudder bearings 803 series are built by using aluminum 3571 with black hardcote anodizing. They are self-aligning and they slide on three rows of spherical peek rollers. This kind of rudder bearing is the best choice to fit large carbon rudder shafts.

The 803 series is available in two versions – for the deck and for the hull and both types have the locking flange. The outside shape is cylindrical. Solimar can supply on request, a fiberglass bushing (Item 803B) that must be laminated to the hull. The bearings must be locked by bolts to the fiberglass bushing. In this way the dismantling of the bearing for maintenance or replacement is very easy and quick, with no de-lamination of the hull.

The 803 series is suitable for rudder shaft with diameters from 100mm to 540mm. The watertight system (Solimar security system) on rudder bearings series 803L is made with a self-supporting neoprene tube (height to be specified) locked by stainless steel clamps. A ring with gasket is locked on the top of the tube by using stainless steel clamps.
